Memo: Global Supply Chain Issues

Article posted on June 18, 2021

To Our Valued Customers:

As the world begins to recover from the brunt of the COVID-19, many of the pandemic’s effects continue to be felt. Restrictions on travel and commerce are still in place, creating an international slowdown in manufacturing and shipping. These delays, combined with other unfortunate circumstances– Cargo bottlenecks, a fire at a major semiconductor plant – have resulted in major supply chain disruptions worldwide.

Unfortunately, the AV industry is not exempt from these disruptions. Although we have done everything possible to get ahead of this global issue, we are still bound by the realities at hand; there is simply not enough product available to meet demand. The result is an increase in price and potential setbacks in job completion dates.

Almost all our vendors have been affected by this situation. While news is still forthcoming, it is reasonable to assume every major manufacturer will experience delays in production and delivery.

Visual Sound is staying close to the issue and will deliver updates and information regarding orders as soon as they are received. We are working to minimize the impact of this delay on our customers, and sincerely apologize for the inconvenience this has no doubt caused. Due to the worldwide increase in commodity prices, you may need to adjust your budget and scheduling expectations accordingly.

It seems likely these supply chain disruptions will persist for the foreseeable future, possibly into early 2022. Those looking to place orders would benefit from placing them as soon as possible, to lock-in pricing and establish a delivery date. Visual Sound continues to be your partner in audio visual, and we are here to help with any questions and concerns that arise from these unexpected changes.

Sincerely,

Karen L. Bogosian
