CHALLENGE
Home to the Royal Society of Medicine for the last one hundred years, the historic One Wimpole Street is a state-of-the-art venue offering some of the most technologically-advanced meeting and conferencing spaces available in central London today. In January 2013, as part of its commitment to remaining at the forefront of auditoria technology, One Wimpole Street announced the opening of its latest offering; the Wimpole Lecture Theatre. With such a high technical specification, a centralised management and control system was a key consideration. Enter AMX and a unified control solution of panoramic proportions which is helping One Wimpole Street deliver an unrivalled auditorium experience, not just to those who hire it but also to the doctors, dentists, veterinary surgeons and other healthcare professionals of the Royal Society of Medicine who rely on this impressive facility.

SOLUTION
Comfortable and capable by design, the lecture theatre features the very latest in audio-visual presentation technology. At the heart of this impressive technological set-up, the central AMX control system provides both the in-house AV support technicians behind the scenes, and the presenters and lecturers in front, with simplified management of the theatre’s installed systems. An AMX application on iPads at the lectern helps users navigate the technology at their disposal by providing them all the control capability that they need, on an interface they are comfortably familiar with. While the theatre’s dedicated control room boasts the very latest in touch panel technology; AMX’s impressive 20” Modero X Series panel. With its edge-to-edge projected capacitive glass display and unrivalled panorama, this stunning interface offers One Wimpole Street’s in-house technicians all the pixel realestate they could possible need.

IMPACT
"We chose AMX’s 20” Modero X Series wide-aspect touch panel specifically to facilitate system control by two technicians during live events. Now, for example, one technician can be switching sources on the matrix interface while another simultaneously operates camera controls while viewing a video preview, all on the one touch panel."
