Experience the Power of Christie Processing

Christie will be taking over three meeting rooms and designing them as a special showcase for the magic behind the throne – the power of Christie processing. Visitors can be the first to preview the new Christie Pandoras Box 6.0 and Widget Designer, as well as see the Christie Spyder X20, a firm favourite with broadcasters. Hall 9, meeting rooms 9.MS71, 9.MS72, 9.MS73.

EMEA first showing: Ang Lee’s new film at 120 frames per second, 3D, 4K, with 6P laser brightness

Monday’s keynote by multi-award-winning director Ang Lee (Life of Pi, Brokeback Mountain) will be the first time in EMEA that clips of Ang Lee’s new film from TriStar Pictures, Billy Lynn’s Long Halftime Walk (2016) can be seen in 120 frames per second, 3D, 4K, in 6P laser brightness. Christie has the only projection solution in the world that can show such a high frame rate and resolution in 3D, thanks to its Christie TruLife™ platform – with a proprietary, 1.2 Gigapixel per second, floating point architecture.

For over two decades, Ang Lee has shown true mastery in utilising cutting-edge science and cinematographic techniques towards his creation of some of the very finest works of cinematic story-telling art.”

The revolutionary new cinematographic technique utilised unlocks a new level of story-telling power and emotional connection with the on-screen characters. Additionally, it offers greater control over preserving artistic integrity over the increasing range of delivery formats both within cinema and to the wider electronic entertainment market.

Christie as Technical partner of IBC

For the 10th year, Christie is Technical Partner of IBC and is supporting the exhibition in several locations, notably the ever popular RAI Auditorium Big Screen Experience projected by a Christie RGB 6P laser solution. Additionally IBC TV will be utilizing Christie Velvet Merit Series LED with 1.9mm pixel pitch in a tiled array in the Park Foyer and visitors will be able to check the time in the main lobby with the Christie clock powered by four Christie Boxer 4K30 projectors and Christie Pandoras Box Quad Servers.
